Hey advertiser,
Stop being so greedy.
Most people are incredibly greedy with their:
& understandably so.
But, if you're running ads and your brand doesn't have a large audience & established authority,
Then you need to give it all away!
Give away tons of information & value to the audience first, and then some more,
before you even think about trying to sell them something!
Why?
- Shows your expertise.
- Makes people remember you.
- Makes people want to buy from you.
- people will be begging you to sell them something.
To do this in a way that actually builds a > $10 million brand.
Follow these three essential principles to
Build goodwill & establish authority
The 10:1 rule
10:1 rule shows you (generally) how much you should give before you ask your audience of anything.
- give
- give
- give
- give
- give
- give
- give
- give
- give
- ask (maybe)
Why do this & this excessively?
Two reasons, goodwill & the law of reciprocity.
Goodwill causes people to like and appreciate you and your brand more,
Which will also naturally want to buy from you in the future.
The law of reciprocity states that we want to return the favor for anything someone does for us,
Otherwise we have this guilt that feels like we owe them something.
If you give so much to your audience, and they actually love what they got,
Then they will feel almost obligated to buy from you.
Go against the norm
Most new brands have the product/service, ready to launch, start running ads, and just ask people to "please buy".
This is how it normally works out for them:
Brand: "Hey, buy this"
Audience: "No"
How'd that go for them?
Now lets try giving first:
Brand: "Hey, want free stuff?"
Audience: "Yes!"
Brand: "Some more free stuff?"
Audience: "Wow, yes please!"
Brand: "And some more?"
Audience: "Thank you so much!"
Brand: "I'm glad you loved all that free stuff! If you ever need more help related to that, I have [X] available if you need it!"
Audience: "Actually, I could use that, and I'd love to get it from your brand!"
Much better.
Not only did the brand get the sale...
They gained not only a customer, but a loyal fan of their brand.
How to Execute this with Meta (FB) Ads
By now, I'm sure you see why and how this is so powerful,
But since you're on this newsletter,
You're probably wondering how to apply this to FB ads.
This is one example of how to do it, step-by-step:
- Offer a free ebook or guide that is truly valuable to your audience.
- Collect emails in exchange.
- Set up an email sequence.
- Provide further value in your sequence and in your weekly newsletter.
- Segment your audience and sell each group personalized solutions.
Super simple.
Makes it obvious to say yes.
Gives tons of value first.
This is just one example of how it can work in your advertising.
But this principle, is so universal and has tons of applications, not only in advertising,
But in almost every area of business.
Experiment with this & reply to this email either letting me know how you are already using this in your business,
Or how you've started to/plan to use it in the future!
Until then...
Keep growing, keep scaling!
